Metallic is seeking a Technical Architect – Salesforce to join our team in our global headquarters in Tinton Falls, NJ. The Metallic team is a "start-up" inside of Commvault, building a next generation business. In this pivotal role, you will lead technical projects, solution design and delivery, and business processes that streamline, automate, and scale the way we work at Metallic.  You are expected to help lead & drive the vision, strategy, and execution of a product roadmap within the global operations organization, working with the Senior Leadership of the global go-to-market org, department Vice Presidents, subject matter experts, and users to understand the needs of the business and to develop technical solutions to meet those needs.

How you will make an impact:

  • Participate in projects of various complexities and scope: some requiring management of cross-functional teams, others simply as a sole contributor
  • As necessary, manage all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery
  • Drive operational excellence, stability, and scale by observing strict change control, and best practices for project management, issue mitigation, stakeholder management, data governance, and release management
  • Develop, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications and business requirements
  • Deliver elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, use cases, wireframes, workflow diagrams, state diagrams, and other detailed deliverables
  • Acclimate quickly on current system configuration in order to troubleshoot and improve system usability and performance
  • Build relationships at various levels of the organization to better understand current processes, areas of opportunities, and unique requirements across regional/geographic locations
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of team
  • Lead technical design sessions; architect and document technical solutions aligned with client business objectives; identify gaps between client's current and desired end states
  • Follow and help define coding standards. Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate design patterns are followed
  • Manage the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of a Salesforce implementation

What you need to Be Ready:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Expert level understanding of the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Community, and Community Clouds
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Salesforce development and configuration. Specific qualifications:
  • Understanding of systems architecture and ability to design scalable performance-driven solutions
  • Understanding of key design patterns and large data volume limitations and best practices
  • Understanding of data sharing and visibility considerations and how these play into platform architecture
  • Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems (ETL, CPQ, marketing automation, reporting, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies
  • Experience with platform security capabilities (TLS, SSL)
  • Expert level experience defining the system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
  • Extensive Apex VF Controllers and Apex Triggers development experience
  • Extensive VisualForce, Javascript, HTML design and development experience; JQuery, AngularJS development experience a plus
  • Strong background in design/development of large web-based or client server systems, or complete software product lifecycle exposure
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design and database design
  • Salesforce Certifications (Salesforce Certified Systems Architect a plus)
