Head of Global Total Rewards

We are seeking a Head of Global Total Rewards, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and a key player in the HR leadership team. We are looking for an innovative rewards thinker with deep expertise in global rewards practices for a variety of employee populations. This is a highly visible role within Commvault, with tremendous opportunity to make an impact. In this role you are a strategic business partner with senior management on Compensation programs, policies and practices, making recommendations consistent with company business strategies and goals.  In addition you will work closely with the Board Compensation Committee on executive and equity compensation programs. This role combines communicating with our customers (employees, managers, HR) and working with our systems and processes to manage our employee programs most efficiently. This role manages a team of global rewards practitioners.

Position Responsibilities include:


  • Understand Commvault’s business strategy and global talent needs, and recommend compensation solutions to address those needs
  • Oversee the continuous review and improvement of the global job and compensation architecture, including driving the annual review of overall strategic fit and pay range appropriateness
  • Drive the annual review of executive compensation, partnering with the Compensation Committee to develop and implement change recommendations
  • Oversee the annual salary review and long-term incentive cycles
  • Participate in the annual review of sales incentives, suggesting best practices to maximize motivation
  • Support the annual planning process, assisting Finance and business leaders in the development of their annual headcount plans through reliable compensation forecasting
  • Lead team efforts to design and implement compensation related training for HR and managers


  • Understand Commvault’s business strategy and global talent needs, and recommend compensation solutions to address those needs
  • Utilize knowledge of global healthcare and retirement programs to recommend and implement market competitive programs that meet Commvault’s business priorities
  •  Analyze the healthcare consumption decisions of our employees, and recommend plan designs that promote wellness and shared cost reduction
  • Partner with our global broker to drive vendor negotiations, minimizing administrative costs
  • Collaborate with global benefits team and local HR partners to communicate programs to employees
  • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of ten years’ HR experience in rewards design and management, ideally in a global setting
  • CCP or CBP designations a plus
  • Ability to build and maintain credibility by knowing the business and aligning reward systems support to the priorities of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership.
  • Ability to determine appropriate metrics and utilize data to further enhance the delivery of services
  • Experience working in SaaS HCM (Workday) systems preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to travel periodically
